To add to the reveals of this week, I finally decided on a duvet cover for my bed! Sorry to all my daring readers who voted white, but in the end, I had to follow my heart.
I went with my signature gray and yellow- I just loved this Ikat pattern and as much as I wanted to push myself to go different (and so did all of you!), I felt sad when I thought about not having it. Now that its here, and chilly enough to have on my bed, I absolutely love it (so does Dave!!) My favorite thing about it are the new Euro pillows I bought to go with it. Dave and I have been readers in bed lately and I love how much support they give, even with an upholstered headboard.
So thank you to those of you who voted and have asked me about this. It was a good reminder of Rule #1 in interior decorating, if you love it, and it makes you happy, then buy it. Okay, that's probably not rule #1, but it is a good mental note. You're the one who has to see it everyday, and it should bring you joy. In the end, it's not about what design rules to follow, but surrounding yourself with things you that inspire you and make you happy. Just a few notes from our mission statement here at Settled In..... :)
Okay I'll get off my soapbox now. Looking ahead, keep an eye out for some Halloween decorating ideas in the next few weeks along with details from a crazy awesome fall dinner party I've been planning! Also this month, I will be rolling out our new website!!! I'm so stinking excited for you all to see it!! Keep checking in and promoting Settled In!
