I recently finished this beautiful dining room project in Medford, NJ. My client, Jen, wanted to spruce up this space, which consisted of hand-me-down furniture from the previous homeowners. The bones of this room, were such a pleasure to work with- beautiful hardwood floors, great mouldings, and a fantastic paint color, “Cornflower Blue” by Valspar.
Jen has great taste and a very particular look she wanted for this room. It took a bit of Jedi mind-reading tricks to figure out exactly what her vision consisted of, but together we were create the specific look she had been dreaming of. In the end we took a formal, dated dining room and created this beautiful, relaxed, rustic-chic space, where any group of friends would be pleased to share a meal.

We decided on this black Salvaged Wood Table from Restoration Hardware which packs about as much character into it as a table that has been in the family for 100 years. It’s truly a statement piece in this dining room. These wooden side chairs and end chairs are also from Restoration Hardware. And that chandelier. I love that thing. It’s from Uttermost but Jen ordered it off of Amazon to save some $$. It totally centers this room and brings everything together.

We took away the dated, traditional china cabinet from this main wall and paired a gigantic statement mirror from Kirklands (only $49.99!!) with a monster sideboard from Restoration Hardware. Some simple decor and tall blooms help to balance out the space.

I also had these watercolor paintings professionally framed and preserved for Jen. They came out great and the frames really compliment the mirror on the adjacent wall.

It was an honor to work with Jen. She’s got a great style, a great house, and the sweetest, friendliest dog I’ve ever met! I hope she enjoys her dining room for many years and dinner parties to come.
